Classification method of exhaust gas

Origin:Hefan    Hit:    Time:2020-03-18

Exhaust gas refers to unused gas discharged from industrial furnaces or living processes. There are many types of exhaust gas, which are classified as follows.

1. Classified by the nature of the source of the exhaust gas
       The exhaust gas produced by human industrial production activities is called industrial exhaust gas (including fuel combustion exhaust gas and production process exhaust gas); the exhaust gas produced by human life activities is called domestic exhaust gas; the exhaust gas produced by human transportation activities is called traffic exhaust gas, including automobile exhaust gas (automobiles) Exhaust gas), high-altitude aircraft exhaust, fire and ship exhaust; etc. Exhaust gas produced by human agricultural activities is called agricultural exhaust.

2. Classified by pollutants contained in exhaust gas
       According to the physical form of the pollutants, it can be divided into particulate matter-containing exhaust gas, gaseous pollutant-containing exhaust gas, and so on. Can also be specifically divided into: smoke-containing exhaust gas, industrial dust-containing waste, coal dust-containing waste gas, sulfur-containing compound waste gas, nitrogen-containing compound waste gas, carbon-containing oxide waste gas, halogen-containing compound waste gas, hydrocarbon-containing compound waste gas and the like. This classification method is often used in exhaust gas treatment. In order to clarify the classification of exhaust gas, the types of air pollutants must be clarified.

3. Classified by exhaust gas formation process
       With so many types of air pollutants, it is difficult to make a strict classification. According to its formation process, it can be divided into two categories.

       (1) The pollutants discharged directly from the pollution source by primary pollutants are called primary pollutants, and their physical and chemical properties have not changed;

       (2) Secondary pollutants The products that chemically interact with the primary pollutants in the atmosphere or with the normal components of the atmosphere are called secondary pollutants. It is often more harmful to the environment and the human body than a single pollutant.

       At present, the primary pollutants that have received widespread attention are mainly particulate matter, sulfur compounds, nitrogen compounds, carbon compounds (hydrocarbon compounds), etc. The secondary pollutants are mainly sulfuric acid smog, photochemical smog, etc. Particulate matter can be solid particles or droplets, and gaseous substances can be converted into particulate matter in the atmosphere. It is estimated that about 185 million to 420 million tons of particulate matter (those with a diameter of less than 20m) discharged into the atmosphere every year due to human activities, of which only 5% to 21% are directly emitted.
